Open Studios— New Works | Ausdance Victoria
Ausdance Victoria’s Open Studios – New Works is a program of open showings that provides the opportunity for dance artists and choreographers from all state and territories in Australia to present Contemporary Dance work-in-progress to audiences and producers in the informal and intimate surrounds of Chunky Move Studios in Melbourne, Victoria.

Call for Applications
The 2019 Open Studios—New Works will be held at Chunky Move studios on Friday 15 March 12 (3pm) and Thursday 21 March (3pm). You must be available for these dates and times.
Applications from Dance Artists and Choreographers from all state and territories in Australia, from diverse backgrounds and abilities, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIQ, and individuals of all abilities are highly encouraged.
Each successful applicant will be allocated approximately a one-hour block in the program which includes:
- 30 minute set up time (minimal set)
- 25 minutes to present their Contemporary Dance work to an audience
- The presentations will consist of a 5-10 minutes excerpt or video of the work, followed by a spoken presentation about yourselves and your work, and ending with a Q&A session
- 10 minutes to bump out
- Dance artists/choreographers with performances programmed throughout Dance Massive are not eligible to apply for Open Studios – New Works 2019.
Successful applicants will be selected by an independent National panel of Dance Industry Professionals outside of the Dance Massive Consortium.
