Ophelia Huang

Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center and ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival, Head of International and Programme Director Shanghai, China

Ophelia Huang is Head of International in Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center (SDAC) and Programme Director of ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival, the annual festival for performing arts across six different stages under SDAC management.

Ophelia is active in the performing arts and international cultural collaboration in China. She started her professional career as an arts journalist and editor for one of the most influential arts magazines in China. From 2003 to 2006 she managed Artist Links, an Arts Council England and British Council pioneer project for artistic exchange between China and the United Kingdom. After that she worked in the British Council responsible for planning and managing arts projects in China.

Ophelia also maintains her own creative practice as a writer, dramaturg and performance artist. She graduated from the University of Warwick and University of Arts in Belgrade with Master of Arts degree in art theory and performance studies.

Ophelia Huang is attending Dance Massive as part of the Asia Network for Dance (AND+) Core Group meeting.
