Fiona Gardner
Fiona Gardner BA Hons, is a South Australian multidisciplinary artist that works collaboratively through film and dance to explore challenging discourses. She founded Finsart Inc. in 2011 that operates Finsart Studio, a hub for the local dance community in Adelaide. In 2015 Fiona collaborated with Michael Larue on Shattered Perfection that won that year’s SALA Moving Image Award (2015). She also facilitated a dance-parkour film working with refugees from Afghanistan, West Africa and Nepal. Other notable projects include Guitars and Dance Adelaide Guitar festival (2015), aerial harness performance Quasi-Ideal Renew Adelaide (2014), five star reviewed site-specific work Cultural Isolation (Adelaide Fringe), and it’s sequel What’s Your Crutch? South Australian Living Arts Festival (2012). Fiona also works as a professional dancer and choreographer for a variety of directors and schools across South Australia. Her current solo dance work KALI aims to challenge the discourse of how women are socially constructed in the 21st century.
