Rebecca Youdell is a leading interdisciplinary practitioner. Rebecca is a founding and ongoing member of the ecologically underpinned Bonemap: creative intermedia arts, est. 1998; co-producer of On Edge Media + Performance festival, Cairns; curator LAPS: Live Art in Pubic Spaces; and coordinator of the New Move Network since 2011 working with the Centre of Contemporary Arts Cairns. She contributes to national and international projects, has undertaken consultancies and strategic planning for arts and educational institutions, is administrator for KickArts Contemporary Arts, and mentors Biddigal Performing Arts.
The New Move Network is a dedicated program of contemporary dance presentations and audience development by a consortium of independent dance artists in partnership with key stakeholders the Centre of Contemporary Arts Cairns, Ausdance Queensland, James Cook University and Nintiringanyi Cultural Training Centre.
Rebecca’s solo and collaborative works are for stage, gallery, screen, networked, interactive and site-specific contexts and she works across multiple perspectives of media with the physical actions and perceptions of the body as a consistent reference.
