Angela Conquet is CEO and Artistic Director of Dancehouse. Under her tenure, Dancehouse has cemented its position as a centre for the independent dance sector with significant local impact and remarkable international reach. Before moving to Australia in 2011, she worked for 11 years in Paris, France, where she commissioned, presented and mentored over 100 dance artists. She led several international and European projects, was part of different juries and peer panels and has been extensively involved with and part of different international professional networks (THEOREM, TransEuropHalles, IETM, Aerowaves).
She is the founder of the Dancehouse Diary, a quarterly publication linking the moving body to wider societal issues. She has a MA degree in International Cultural Management (Paris 8 University) and in Applied Languages.
She is a fierce advocate of the independent sector and a facilitator of connections and networks between artists, arts organisations and ideas.
